Lawyers Can be Fun

Rachel King

Podcast Episode 182

Rachel and I sit down and talk not only about the law but children pitching business ideas, transitioning a business, when you can be selective of the clients you talk, when it is ok to make money and so much more.

Be prepared to laugh as Rachel has great stories and I think really helps to make lawyers not seem so serious!

Here is a little more background in her:

Rachel is a serial entrepreneur starting at the age of 12. She realized at this early age that having a job could be more effective if she ran it as a business. Rachel excitedly ran her babysitting business with skills and tools as efficiently as any exceptional young professional. This instinctive work ethic and drive, beginning in her youth, was followed by 7 years of military service in the Army as a paralegal and Communication Specialist. Utilizing the disciplined skills from her time in the service, she pursued the exciting challenges of starting multiple businesses early in her career. But there was a rooted drive in her for more significant growth, which Rachel used to continue expanding her talents.

The passion for law was instilled in her from birth from her father’s law career and watching him run his practice. She followed in his footsteps, earning her Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, and opening King Law Firm in 2014.

The combination of entrepreneurship, discipline training, and an understanding of law allows her to be the rising leader for California, Arizona, Texas, and Kentucky, with her firm practicing strategic litigation in family law, probate, and real estate matters.

Alongside her impressive career, she remains at the forefront of innovation and strategy in business. She is currently working on completing her Doctorate in Business Administration with an expected completion date of 2024. Rachel is a proud wife and mother and is loved by her community for her continued service in outreach.

She worked closely with the Southwest Valley Youth Court and volunteered as an attorney mentor. Rachel is a proud founding member of the Douglas County Bar Association in Douglas County, Nevada, and spends a lot of time giving back to elementary schools, senior centers, assisted living centers, and non-profits. Her penchant for serving the community earned her the Murrieta Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2016. She was awarded the Stevie business award in 2019 for the year's legal entrepreneur of the year. Rachel continues to run With CLASS, a nonprofit providing application fee scholarships to Student of the Month recipients in Temecula and Murrieta.

Today, Rachel is committed to the legal success of her clients. She believes communication and collaboration are essential for a successful attorney-client relationship. She always goes above and beyond to remain personally available to her clients so they can feel comfortable that no matter the legal issue, she will help them resolve it through aggressive representation as swiftly and cost-effective as possible. She has a proven track record for success, from babysitting to Military Service and entrepreneurship. As president of her esteemed Law Practice, she is a dynamic leader in the courtroom, the community, and her loving family.
